Felipe Coronel , mais conhecido como Immortal Technique, é um MC e ativista político. Ele é de descendência afro-peruana e é residente do Harlem, Nova Iorque. A maioria de suas letras concentra questões sócio-políticas, as opiniões expressadas em suas letras são em grande parte uma mistura de comentário sobre questões como a pobreza, religião e racismo. Ele também fala sobre as duras realidades resultantes da criminalidade e projectos nas favelas de New York. Embora tenham lhe oferecido vários contratos com grandes gravadoras, ele nunca aceitou. Imortal Technique manifesta o desejo de manter o controle sobre sua produção, e fez declarações na sua música de que ele está bem consciente sobre as gravadoras, que preferem produções em massa do que a comercialização de cultura musical e disse "Ele preferia fazer um monte de um pouco, do que um pouco de um monte." Ele é também o presidente da Viper Records.
